St. Mark's Medical Center Welcomes DeAndrea Baker, Seth Gregory, and Christopher Washington 

La Grange, TX - St. Mark's Medical Center (SMMC) announces new team member additions DeAndrea Baker, Executive Assistant; Seth Gregory, Director of Quality & Infection Prevention; and Chris Washington, Director of Patient Financial Services.

"We are delighted to add more strong talent to our team," said Mark Kimball, President and CEO of SMMC. "DeAndrea, Seth and Chris each bring a unique skill set to our organization and we expect them to help us continue to strengthen our ability to offer top-notch care to this community." 

DeAndrea Baker supports the diverse administrative needs of the SMMC executive staff and hospital board, including schedules, meeting planning and minutes; fields phone calls and public access requests.

"I am thrilled to be at St. Mark's," said Baker. "This is an exciting time to be working in health care, and the opportunity to do so in this capacity here in my community is rare. As a lifelong resident of La Grange, I look forward to leveraging my deep community knowledge and relationships to extend St. Mark's reach into the region." 

Baker brings multi-layered experience to the role, having worked as the Connections Coordinator at a local church, as well as Combined Community Action for a number of years. Baker and her husband, Kenny, have a daughter currently studying at UMHB and a son attending La Grange Middle School.

In Seth Gregory's new role, he leads and oversees Quality and Infection Prevention. Included in Gregory's scope is the hospital's performance improvement, risk management, and patient safety and infection control programs, as well as hospital-wide regulatory compliance and survey readiness.

"I'm excited to be at SMMC and help ensure that the excellent care provided in this facility is well-documented and meets the ever-changing industry and regulatory guidelines," said Gregory. "I'm passionate about infection prevention and continuous improvement of quality of care and patient experience -- they're intricately entwined. And I'm learning that the staff at SMMC are driven to attain the highest standards in these areas, too."

A native of Houston, Gregory's healthcare career began in 2009 as a registered nurse; since then, he has served in various quality and infection prevention roles at Ascension -- Dell Children's & Seton Medical Center - Austin. Gregory holds a Master of Science in Nursing, is certified in infection prevention and control (CIC), and is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ).

Gregory and his wife, Angie, have four children from teen to toddler ages, and are searching for a home in the La Grange area. Gregory enjoys participating in sports, including coaching youth teams. 

Chris Washington brings 15 years of leadership experience to SMMC, a decade of which is attributed to all aspects of healthcare revenue cycle management. Dedicated to process improvement, Washington has a history of improving team productivity and billing processes, thereby reducing payer denials and rejections. 

"I am enjoying getting to know my team at St. Mark's," said Washington. "They are a friendly, dedicated group and they have welcomed me into my new role. Digging into revenue cycle processes is always exciting to me, as identifying opportunities for improvement can significantly impact the bottom line and ability to maximize our overall effectiveness."

Washington has spent most of his extensive healthcare career in the Dallas area, and comes to SMMC most recently from Christus Health in Irving. He studied at Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View, TX, and in his free time, enjoys traveling and spending time with family.
