"Doris' nomination forms included great detail of her professional excellence, that on its own, is top notch and earns her the respect of staff and physicians throughout the hospital," said Mark Kimball, SMMC CEO. "She is a leader who recognizes the value of her experience and knowledge, and doesn't hesitate to help train others or identify opportunities for continuous improvement."
Kesel's nominations also included her outstanding dedication to her team, persevering through health events and challenges, never missing a shift.
"For those of us who have worked alongside Doris, we fully appreciate all that she brings to the team," said SMMC Chief Clinical Officer Tammy Hartfield. "What makes her performance stand out further, and was highlighted in one of the nomination forms, was of Doris having "servant's hands." This quality cannot be taught, but comes from within, and we are fortunate to have her on our team," she continued.
Outside of the hospital, Klesel also supports the Fayette County Fair's 4-H food show and contest each year. She also is an active member of her church, participating in various groups, fundraising and children's programs.
